As I sit here in my favorite cafe, I'm trying to figure out what to say about why AWAI (American Writers & Artists, Inc) should pick me to be their official blogger.
Well, I think that the strongest argument is that I believe in their mission. Not only does AWAI train students how to be writers in various niches, ranging from web copywriting to travel, etc., they're changing lives by helping others to be clear on their "why."
Many a work at home opportunity or home based business may stress the "how to" but very few hardly, if ever, touch on getting down to your personal motivations.
Here's the thing - ..for years I've set goals. I've used affirmations. I've paid for coaching. And so on.
It's only when I realized the importance of getting clear on my own "why" that the real changes in my life started to happen.
Perhaps more importantly, AWAI understands that conversation, not content, is king. What does this mean? They don't simply ship students a bunch of study materials or just sell expensive seminars.
Caring staff such as Rebecca Matter take an active personal interest in your success. AWAI's website offers resources such as job postings, and email newsletters provide tips on how to continue your growth as a writer.
So, I guess that's why being AWAI's blogger will be a great opportunity - I get to share why AWAI is changing lives, and there's nothing writers love more than to write about what they are passionate about.
